COMARTIN INTRODUCES TWO PRIVATE MEMBERS BILLS IN THE COMMONS TO AMEND THE CRIMINAL CODE

(Ottawa, ON) – On March 2, 2012, bill C-290 (An Act to Amend the Criminal Code – Sports Betting) sponsored by Joe Comartin M.P. for Windsor-Tecumseh, will commence its third reading of debate in the House of Commons.

FEBRUARY 16, 2012

(Ottawa, ON) – Today, Joe Comartin, M.P. for Windsor-Tecumseh, along with representatives from the Canadian Gaming Association, provided a comprehensive testimony on the positive impacts that would ensue as a result of bill C-290 - An Act to amend the Criminal Code (Sports Betting) before the Justice and Human Rights Committee.

(Ottawa, ON) – On Thursday, February 16, Joe Comartin, M.P. for Windsor-Tecumseh will be appearing before the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights to provide a testimony to members of the committee on his bill, C-290 (An Act to Amend the Criminal Code, Sports Betting). On November 1, 2011, the bill passed second reading by a unanimous voice vote and was referred to committee.
